All Federal Employees, spouses, and eligible adult dependents now qualify for truED benefits from Champlain College Online. truED is the national division of Champlain College to provide relevant, accelerated, and quickly applicable online-based education for adult learners. Champlain College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
Federal Government, as part of truED alliance, offers advanced educations for its employees and their families with 70% less than the college standard tuition through flexible payment options. Subscription is also flexible, meaning students can increase, modify, and cancel it within 30 days of written notice. Various programs are available including IT, healthcare, accounting, and business management from undergraduate certificates to master’s degrees.
Who is Eligible
Federal Employees, spouses and eligible adult dependents qualify for the truED benefits. The term “adult dependent” means a person between 22-26 years of age who is covered by Federal employee benefits. All online programs are designed for adults consisting of discussions and projects based on each student’s workplace scenarios. Someone between the ages of 18-21 years old is considered an adult but the college does not admit individuals within that age group to the online programs. It is worth mentioning that discounted-tuition does not apply to campus-based degrees.
All course contents are immediately applicable to the individual’s career. Everything is packaged in an online format flexible enough to manage regardless of your work schedule. The learning environment is designed to allow students to know classmates and professors so the educational atmosphere is not that different from its conventional campus-based counterpart.
truED Learning System
Besides providing the deeply discounted tuition, the truED program promises the following benefits:
Flexible classes: the learning portal is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students can log on anytime they feel comfortable. In fact, most classes allow students to make their own schedules including for assignments and taking tests.
Simple: once the students receive the course syllabus, they can check who their classmates are. Assignments and lectures are all posted online and remain accessible through a semester.
Built-in tools: all features and tools necessary to complete the program are available in the course. Assignment and testing tools are built-in along with an email client to contact professors and classmates privately.
